Traditionally used in India for storing freshly made chapati breads. Brass Chapati boxes were a staple in almost every Indian household, and were often passed down through the family. These were used every day when families would gather and enjoy hearty, fragrant meals together. They were placed over heat to keep the breads warm.
Full of soul and patina, it now makes a curious display object that doubles as a place to keep the 'small things' tucked out of sight.
Each is a one-of-a-kind with its decorative floral handle and engraved patterns. More than 60 years old, this beauty shows signs of a past life lived. Love India!
