Tiffin lunch boxes are steeped in tradition and history all over India.
Traditionally women would make their husbands' lunch, placing each meal component in separate sections of the Tiffin to maintain flavour and freshness. This would be collected from home by a carrier and delivered on time each day without fail, with no more than a piece of ribbon attached to identify who the tiffin belonged to. Incredible logistics in incredible India!
Full of soul and patina, it now makes a curious display object that doubles as a place to keep the 'small things' tucked out of sight.
